Louisville, Kentucky - On April 19, 2018, U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) Officers assigned to UPS Express Consignment Shipment House in Louisville, KY intercepted cargo which contained more than 520 kg of cocaine.

The shipment originated in Sao Paulo, Brazil and was destined for Point Noire, Republic of Congo. The officer targeted the shipment based on an officer's knowledge and experience of smuggling techniques. Upon inspection, 60 boxes containing 24 tubs of silicone adhesive was discovered. A CBP officer drilled into the silicone tubes to reveal a white powder. The white powder was field tested and reacted positive for cocaine.

The weight of cocaine in the silicone tubes was equivalent to 1,147 lbs and has a street value of more than $17 million.
