Washington, DC - The United States and the Republic of the Philippines held the sixth Bilateral Strategic Dialogue (BSD) on March 17-18, 2016, in Washington, D.C. The annual dialogue supported and reinforced the Alliance across a broad range of shared values, interests, and priorities. The Dialogue was co-chaired by Assistant Secretary of State Daniel Russel and Assistant Secretary of Defense David Shear for the United States and Undersecretary of Foreign Affairs Evan P. Garcia and Undersecretary of National Defense Pio Lorenzo F. Batino for the Republic of the Philippines.

Washington, DC - Ambassador Bonnie Jenkins is leading the U.S. delegation to the annual meeting of the International Network for Nuclear Security Training and Support Centres (NSSC Network), held this year in Islamabad at the Pakistan Centre of Excellence (CoE) for Nuclear Security, from March 14 through March 18. Ambassador Jenkins serves as the chair of the NSSC Network. The aim of this annual meeting is to review the status of implementation of the NSSC Network.

Washington, DC - Friday, Assistant Secretary of State Daniel Russel and Assistant Secretary of Defense David Shear will lead the Sixth Annual U.S.-Philippines Bilateral Strategic Dialogue (BSD) with the Government of the Philippines, led by Department of Foreign Affairs Undersecretary for Policy Evan Garcia and Department of National Defense Undersecretary for Legal and Strategic Concerns Pio Batino. On the occasion of the BSD, the two sides will reaffirm their commitment to peace, security, and economic prosperity in the Asia Pacific region.

Washington, DC - President Obama, in the context of the previously announced travel to Germany, will visit the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia on April 21.  While there, he will participate in a Summit with leaders from the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries – Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates.
