Fresno, California - A federal grand jury returned a one-count indictment today against Carlos Gerardo Blanco, 25; Salvador Morales, 26; Jose Alejandro Jacobo, 23; Josefina Blanco, 23; Justin Alan Rivera, 20; and Henry Polin Morales III, 20 all residents of Bakersfield, charging them with conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine, United States Attorney Benjamin B. Wagner announced.

Sacramento, California - A federal grand jury returned a two-count indictment today against Dumitru Martin, 55, a Romanian citizen residing in Long Island, New York, and Anamaria Cruceru, 48; Constantin Schiller, 62; and Marcelle Banaga, 40, all of whom reside in Romania, charging them with conspiracy to commit bribery and with bribery of a public official, United States Attorney Benjamin B. Wagner announced.

Riverside, California - Enrique Marquez Jr., 24, of Riverside, California, a longtime friend of Syed Rizwan Farook, the male shooter in the San Bernardino, California, terrorist attack, was charged today with conspiring to provide material support to terrorists based upon his role in terrorist plotting with Farook in 2011 and 2012, the unlawful purchase of the two assault rifles used in the deadly shooting two weeks ago and defrauding immigration authorities by entering into a sham marriage with a member of Farook’s family.

San Francisco, California - Attorney General Kamala D. Harris issued a consumer alert urging  older Californians to be on the lookout for the “Grandparent Scam” and other scams targeting seniors and others that have been reported to the California Department of Justice.  During the holidays, older Californians are especially vulnerable to scams perpetrated by individuals who prey on their good will.

Sacramento, California - Attorney General Kamala D. Harris announced the arrest of Alex Morales III, 54, an employee of the California Department of Transportation (Caltrans), on bribery charges. Morales allegedly received bribes in the form of money and a vehicle in return for ensuring that Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) contracts were awarded to the person or company providing the bribe.
