Designations of Foreign Terrorist Fighters

Washington, DC - As part of the effort to counter the threats posed by foreign terrorist fighters, the Department of State has designated ten individuals and five groups, and amended the designations of two additional groups as Specially Designated Global Terrorists (SDGTs) under Executive Order (E.O.) 13224, which imposes sanctions and penalties on terrorists and those providing support to terrorists or acts of terrorism. Also today, the Treasury Department concurrently announced the designation of 15 key Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) terrorism facilitators pursuant to E.O. 13224, for a total of 35 new U.S. terrorism designations issued today.

Twentynine Palms, California - Joshua Tree National Park Rescuers located a 21 year old male from Great Britain who had been hiking in the Rattlesnake Canyon area of the park and became separated from the others in his party. Acting on a 911 call Saturday at approximately 6:50 pm, search teams from Joshua Tree National Park Search and Rescue (JOSAR), Desert Search and Rescue (DSAR), San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department and Fire Department, responded to a report of a lost hiker.

Sacramento, California - The California Department of Food and Agriculture (CDFA) has selected 100 projects totaling $9.38 million from the State Water Efficiency and Enhancement Program (SWEEP) to implement on-farm water irrigation systems that reduce energy use resulting in greenhouse gas (GHGs) emission reductions and water savings.
