Dungeness and Rock Crab Health Advisory Partially Lifted along the California Coast

Sacramento, California - The health advisory regarding Dungeness and rock crabs caught along the coast between the Santa Barbara/Ventura County Line and Latitude 35° 40' N (near Piedras Blancas Light Station, in San Luis Obispo County) is being lifted along the coasts of Santa Barbara and San Luis Obispo counties. California Department of Public Health (CDPH) Director and State Public Health Officer Dr. Karen Smith updated the advisory today because recent tests show that levels of domoic acid have declined to low or undetectable levels in crabs caught in these areas.
FBI Reports Decrease in Bank Robberies Throughout the Northern California District for 2015

San Francisco, California - The FBI is announcing that for the second year in a row, there is an overall decrease in the number of bank robberies throughout the Northern California District in 2015. Over the past year, there have been 102 bank robberies compared to 152 in 2014 and 229 in 2013.
CBP Agriculture Specialists Discover Khapra Beetles at Dublin Preclearance

Washington, DC - U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) agriculture specialists at the Dublin Preclearance Facility intercepted a large quantity of live larvae, live adults, and shed casings of Khapra Beetles from a plastic bag of chick peas and peanut mix. The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) at the Plant Inspection Station (PIS) at John F. Kennedy Airport in New York positively identified the specimens as Trogoderma granarium, commonly known as Khapra Beetle. This is the first time that Khapra Beetles have been intercepted at the Port of Dublin.

Washington, DC - The Department of Justice announced today that Bank Lombard Odier & Co Ltd (Lombard Odier) and DZ Privatbank (Schweiz) AG (DZ Privatbank) reached resolutions under the department’s Swiss Bank Program. These banks collectively will pay penalties of more than $107 million.
First case of Zika virus reported in Puerto Rico

Washington, DC - The Puerto Rico Department of Health reported today the first locally acquired case of Zika virus infection in Puerto Rico. Zika was confirmed in a resident of Puerto Rico with no known travel history. CDC is working closely with the Puerto Rico Department of Health to investigate how the patient may have contracted the virus. Health officials in Puerto Rico are monitoring for other cases of Zika virus infection.
