Houston, Texas - In the first extradition from the Republic of Cameroon to the United States, a Texas man was extradited to Houston to serve an 80-year prison sentence he received in absentia four years ago after he pleaded guilty in two separate cases to conspiracy, health care fraud, money laundering, and tax offenses.

El Centro, California - On Tuesday, the Imperial County Board of Supervisors announced the appointment of Public Defender, Ben Salorio, as the Interim County Executive Officer (CEO) following the recent resignation of Tony Rouhotas, Jr. Mr. Salorio will serve as Interim CEO effective immediately. Assistant Public Defender, Jason Gundel, will serve as Interim Public Defender while Mr. Salorio is to lead the county.

Brawley, California - At approximately 0400 hours on December 15, 2021, Imperial County Sheriff’s Deputies received a call from Brawley Police advising of a “man down” and possibly deceased near the Highway 78 and Hovely Road intersection. Brawley police received a call from a passerby at approximately 0350 hours regarding a subject at that location, not moving, with severe injuries.
