Washington, DC - Today, as the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the U.S. Department of Transportation’s National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) jointly adopt a second round of standards for medium and heavy-duty vehicles, the Energy Department is announcing up to $137 million in investments for two programs, subject to appropriations, to develop next generation technologies that will support industry in going beyond those standards while also accelerating technology advances for passenger cars and light trucks.

FTC Approves Final Order in Practice Fusion Privacy Case

Washington, DC - After a public comment period, the Federal Trade Commission has approved a final order resolving the Commission’s complaint against Practice Fusion. In its complaint, the FTC charged that Practice Fusion misled consumers by soliciting reviews for doctors in connection with an online healthcare satisfaction survey, without disclosing adequately that these reviews would be publicly posted on the Internet. As a result, patients’ sensitive personal and medical information was publicly disclosed.

Camp Pendleton, California - In a ceremony at Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton, Secretary of the Navy Ray Mabus announced Arleigh Burke-class destroyer, DDG 122, will be named John Basilone in honor of the Marine Corps gunnery sergeant and Medal of Honor recipient.
Imperial County Behavioral Health announces the pending retirement of Director Michael W. Horn

El Centro, California - Michael Horn has been the director of Behavioral Health for the past 17 years. During his tenure, Horn has overseen a dramatic expansion of services to the Imperial County community. When he began as director the department had a staff of approximately 100 employees with about 1200 patients. The department now has almost 500 employees and will see an estimated 7000 unduplicated patients in 2016.
