Washington, DC - Coordinator for Threat Reduction Programs, Ambassador Bonnie Jenkins, will lead a U.S. interagency delegation to Kyiv, Ukraine, June 25–26, to discuss the G7 Global Partnership Against the Spread of Weapons and Materials of Mass Destruction (Global Partnership) efforts in biosecurity, biosafety, and nuclear and radiological security in Ukraine.

The engagement with Ukrainians will be led by Germany, the current chair of the 29-member Global Partnership, and will include Global Partnership members from the European Union, the Netherlands, and Canada. Ambassador Jenkins will also hold discussions with Ukrainian officials on the 2016 Nuclear Security Summit.

Ambassador Jenkins will be in Paris, June 29–30, to attend the Global Health Security Agenda (GHSA) Steering Group meeting, which will be chaired by Finland. The Ambassador will lead a discussion on GHSA engagement with the international non-governmental sector. She will then attend the World Organisation for Animal Health’s (OIE) Global Conference on Biological Threat Reduction, and will join OIE Director General, Dr. Bernard Vallat, in providing opening remarks for the conference.

Ambassador Jenkins will then travel to Vilnius, Lithuania, July 1–3, to attend the Sherpa meeting for the 2016 Nuclear Summit.
