Washington, DC - Senior Advisor to the Secretary of State David Thorne will represent the United States as an observer nation at the Summit of the Pacific Alliance in Peru, July 1-3.

While in Peru, Senior Advisor Thorne will meet with a range of Peruvian government officials and officials from the Pacific Alliance countries of Chile, Colombia, and Mexico.  He will also meet with representatives from other observer states, including Canada and Costa Rica.  The Senior Advisor will promote the United States’ Shared Prosperity Agenda, which recognizes that security, stability, and prosperity are inexorably intertwined, and discuss ways the United States can continue its engagement in support of Pacific Alliance goals.

The Pacific Alliance seeks to grow the economies of both member and observer nations via increased cooperation in trade facilitation, travel facilitation, small business, entrepreneurship, and exchanges between research institutions.
