Washington, DC - Assistant Secretary of State for International Organization Affairs Sheba Crocker will travel to Rome and Vatican City, May 24–26, to attend the World Food Program’s (WFP) Executive Board meeting and for consultations with counterparts and Rome-based international organizations.

On May 25, Assistant Secretary Crocker will deliver the U.S. statement at the opening session of the WFP’s Executive Board meeting. On the margins of the Executive Board meeting, Assistant Secretary Crocker will meet with WFP Executive Director Ertharin Cousin and participate in country-specific briefings. Also while in Rome, Assistant Secretary Crocker will meet with Food and Agriculture Organization Deputy Director-General Daniel Gustafson and Director-General for the International Development Law Organization Irene Khan.

On May 26, Assistant Secretary Crocker will meet with the Holy See’s Undersecretary for Relations with States Antoine Camilleri to discuss climate change issues and the Post-2015 Development Agenda. She also will meet with her counterparts at the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Rome to discuss UN, human rights, and development issues, among other topics.
