Washington, DC - Secretary of State John Kerry: "I welcome today’s consensus adoption by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Board of Governors (BOG) of the resolution addressing the Director General’s December 2 final assessment of the possible military dimensions (PMD) of Iran’s past nuclear program. This resolution allows the Board to turn its focus now to the full implementation and verification of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), which prohibits the resumption of such nuclear weapons-related activities and provides comprehensive tools for deterring and detecting any renewed nuclear weapons work.

Washington, DC - The United States congratulates the people of Guinea for overcoming logistical challenges to participate in largely peaceful elections on October 11 that reflected the will of the Guinean people, who turned out in record numbers.  We commend the elements of Guinean civil society that contributed to a successful election, including the religious and community leaders who consistently called for peace and the various groups that supported a transparent process by joining election observation missions throughout the country.

Washington, DC - Yesterday, Saudi Arabia conducted its first municipal election in which both men and women registered as candidates and voted. We congratulate the many men and women across the country who won seats and applaud the nearly1000 women who ran and participated as candidates.
