Portsmith, England - The Chernobyl nuclear power plant meltdown and explosion in 1986 created a radioactive no-man’s land, a 1,000 square mile exclusion zone. According to the Association of Mature American Citizens, experts estimate that the exclusion zone won’t be safe for more than 100 years.

But, entrepreneurial scientists at England’s University of Portsmouth have decided it is already safe enough to use the water and grain in the zone to make a powerful new Vodka, aptly labeled Atomik Vodka. The University issued a statement noting that “the only radioactivity the researchers could detect in the alcohol is natural Carbon-14 at the same level you would expect in any spirit drink.”
