Sacramento, California - California Attorney General Xavier Becerra issued the following statement following the publication of a quarterly report on DACA applications filed by the federal government. Last night by court order, United Citizenship and Immigration Services produced data on the number of DACA applications that have been renewed or await a pending decision as a result of the nationwide injunction California AG Becerra secured in January. As a result of the injunction, the court ordered the federal government to publish updated statistics, which revealed that at least 30,000 Dreamers have been able to renew their DACA status and secure two more years of DACA protection. In addition, approximately 30,000 DACA applications remain pending.

"As a result of the nationwide injunction we secured, at least 30,000 Dreamers who have renewed their DACA status -- our colleagues, our classmates, our teachers -- can go home to their loved ones at night and keep helping build a better America,” said Attorney General Becerra. “I'll keep fighting at every turn in court for Dreamers' rights and opportunities, so they may continue to make meaningful contributions in California and beyond."
