Washington, DC - David Saperstein, Ambassador at Large for International Religious Freedom (IRF), traveled to Brussels June 14-16 and will travel to London from June 16-19, 2015.

In Brussels, Ambassador Saperstein took part in the launch of the International Contact Group on Freedom of Religion or Belief, a group of like-minded countries aiming to collectively advance our religious freedom concerns across the globe, with Ambassador Bennett, the Canadian Ambassador for Religious Freedom. The Government of Canada is the inaugural chair of this Contact Group. Ambassador Saperstein also met with members of the European Parliament and the European Union’s External Action Service as well other governments and non-governmental organizations supporting freedom of religion or belief.

Ambassador Saperstein will be in London from June 16-19 to promote the U.S. government’s global religious freedom agenda in a broad range of meetings with government officials, parliamentarians, religious leaders and representatives of religious groups, human rights organizations, and academia.
