Washington, DC - The National Institutes of Health Information Technology Acquisition and Assessment Center (NITAAC) announced the award of its newest government-wide acquisition contract (GWAC) for information technology: Chief Information Officers - Commodities and Solutions (CIO-CS). This new contract covers 10 years with potential funds totaling $20 billion to provide the entire federal government with IT solutions.

The HSAC is comprised of experts from state, local and tribal governments, emergency and first responder communities, academia and the private sector who provide recommendations and advice to the Secretary of Homeland Security on a variety of homeland security issues.

Houston, Texas - A 24-count indictment has been unsealed Friday charging four corporations and five individuals with facilitating the illegal export of high-tech microelectronics, uninterruptible power supplies and other commodities to Iran in violation of the International Emergency Economic Powers Act (IEEPA).

Alexandria, Virginia - A Mara Salvatrucha (MS-13) gang member, who was previously deported to El Salvador on two occasions, was sentenced Friday to 30 months in prison followed by three years of supervised release for unlawful re-entry after removal. U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s (ICE) Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO) conducted the investigation that led to the sentencing. They will remove him to El Salvador once he completes his prison sentence.
