El Centro, California - Sheriff Raymond Loera officially announces his Office will be observing National Correctional Officers week for the Imperial County Sheriff’s Office. The week of recognition begins on May 4, 2015 and ends on May 8, 2015.

On May 5, 1984, President Ronald Reagan proclaimed the first ever National Correctional Officers Week. Since then, the first week in May has been marked by celebrations to recognize the vital public service of Correctional personnel and to honor the work of Correctional Officers and Correctional personnel nationwide.

The Imperial County Sheriff’s Office will recognize the Correctional Officers who work in the County Jail facilities with a small opening ceremony and a variety of meals throughout the week for Officers to enjoy.

The Imperial County Sheriff’s Office would like to honor all Correctional Officers who are dedicated professionals that supervise the many thousands of inmates in our Nation’s jails and prisons, and give special recognition during Correctional Officers Week.
