Sacramento, California - Governor Edmund G. Brown Jr. today announced the following appointments:

Reneeta Anthony, 57, of Fresno, has been appointed to the California Mental Health Services Oversight and Accountability Commission. Anthony has been executive director at A3 Concepts LLC since 2013. She was principal staff analyst at the Fresno County Department of Social Services from 2005 to 2012, at the Fresno County Department of Behavioral Health from 2004 to 2005 and at the Fresno County Human Services System from 2001 to 2004. Anthony was principal staff analyst at the Fresno County Department of Children and Family Services from 2000 to 2001, where she was senior staff analyst from 1999 to 2000. This position does not require Senate confirmation and there is no compensation. Anthony is a Democrat.

Adam Ebrahim, 36, of Fresno, has been appointed to the California Writing Project Advisory Board. Ebrahim has been an English and social science literacy consultant at the Fresno County Office of Education since 2015. He served in several positions for the Fresno Unified School District from 2009 to 2015, including international baccalaureate teacher and English-language arts teacher. Ebrahim served as an enlisted soldier and officer in the U.S. Army National Guard from 2008 to 2014. He earned a Master of Arts degree in international affairs from Washington University in St. Louis. This position does not require Senate confirmation and there is no compensation. Ebrahim is a Democrat.

Mary Alba, 63, of Porterville, has been appointed to the Porterville Developmental Center Advisory Board. Alba served in several positions at the Porterville Developmental Center from 1982 to 2012, including clinical director, program director, nursing coordinator and supervising registered nurse. This position does not require Senate confirmation and there is no compensation. Alba is a Democrat.

Kim Behrens, 53, of Springville, has been appointed to the Porterville Developmental Center Advisory Board. Behrens has been associate dean for health careers at Porterville College since 2011, where she has held several positions since 2001, including faculty, division chair and interim director of health careers. She was an instructor at the Sierra View District Hospital from 2006 to 2008, where she held several positions from 1989 to 2000, including staff nurse, director of critical care services and director of the Emergency Department. Behrens was a nurse instructor at the Porterville Developmental Center from 2000 to 2001 and a staff registered nurse at the Kaweah Delta Health Care District in 2000. She was an instructor at San Joaquin Valley College from 1998 to 1999 and at Pace Symposia from 1997 to 2003. Behrens was a staff registered nurse at Redwood Memorial Hospital from 1987 to 1989 and at Saint Luke’s Manor from 1987 to 1989. She is a member of the California Organization of Associate Degree Nurses, Tulare County Emergency Medical Care Committee and the California Association of Psychiatric Technician Educators. She earned a Master of Science in Nursing degree from the Graceland University School of Nursing. This position does not require Senate confirmation and there is no compensation. Behrens is a Republican.

Gary K. Johnson, 67, of Porterville, has been appointed to the Porterville Developmental Center Advisory Board. Johnson has been a part-time instructor at Porterville College since 1978. He was program director at the Porterville Developmental Center from 2001 to 2011, where he held several positions from 1976 to 1999, including standards compliance coordinator, assistant clinical director, acting director of away from home services and acting director of quality assurance. Johnson was program director at Agnews Developmental Center from 1999 to 2001 and director of volunteer services and therapeutic activities at the Veterans Home of California, Yountville from 1975 to 1976. He was a member of the City of Porterville Planning Commission from 1987 to 1988. Johnson earned a Master of Public Administration degree from California State University, Fresno. This position does not require Senate confirmation and there is no compensation. Johnson is a Republican.

Michael Boitano, 65, of Jackson, has been appointed to the 26th District Agricultural Association, Amador County Fair Board of Directors, where he has served since 1996. Boitano served as an agricultural commissioner and sealer of weights and measures for Amador County from 1998 to 2014. He was an agricultural and standards inspector for Amador County and a sales representative at Procurement Systems from 1990 to 1998. Boitano is a member of the Amador County Future Farmers of America Advisory Board and of the Saint Patrick’s Holy Name Society. This position does not require Senate confirmation and there is no compensation. Boitano is a Republican.

Mary “Jeanne” Deaver, 73, of Plymouth, has been appointed to the 26th District Agricultural Association, Amador County Fair Board of Directors, where she has served since 2007 and served from 1997 to 2002. Deaver has been owner at Amador Flower Farm since 1992 and secretary at Deaver Ranch since 1990. She held several positions at Bank of America from 1967 to 1992, including operations officer, loan officer and branch manager. Deaver is a member of the Amador County Fair Foundation, Amador County Women’s Network, Amador County Chamber of Commerce, Amador County Farm Bureau and the Amador County Wine Grape Growers. This position does not require Senate confirmation and there is no compensation. Deaver is a Republican.

Laurie Forster, 55, of Ione, has been reappointed to the 26th District Agricultural Association, Amador County Fair Board of Directors, where she has served since 2007. Forster was a teacher for the Calaveras Unified School District from 1992 to 2015. She is a member of the California Teachers Association and Native Daughters of the Golden West. This position does not require Senate confirmation and there is no compensation. Forster is a Republican.

Frank Halvorson, 60, of Jackson, has been appointed to the 26th District Agricultural Association, Amador County Fair Board of Directors, where he has served since 1993. Halvorson has been an employee benefits producer and sales executive at USI Insurance Services since 2010. He was president at Prospect Motors from 1983 to 2009. Halvorson is a member of the Jackson Rotary Club. This position does not require Senate confirmation and there is no compensation. Halvorson is a Republican.

Marilyn K Hoopes, 64, of Plymouth, has been reappointed to the 26th District Agricultural Association, Amador County Fair Board of Directors, where she has served since 2002. Hoopes has been owner and manager at Karmère Vineyards and Winery since 2003 and a contract administrative law judge at the California Department of General Services, Office of Administrative Hearings since 1997. She is a member of the Amador County Democratic Central Committee, Plymouth-Foothills Rotary Club and the Amador County Wine Grape Growers. This position does not require Senate confirmation and there is no compensation. Hoopes is a Democrat.

Janice Howard, 77, of Plymouth, has been appointed to the 26th District Agricultural Association, Amador County Fair Board of Directors, where she has served since 2002 and served from 1976 to 1996. Howard has been co-owner at Taylor Ranch since 1977. She was managerial assistant at the Arroyo Seco Ranch from 1977 to 1981, a paralegal at the Law Office of Don F. Howard from 1970 to 1976, a livestock and horse show clerk for the Amador County Fair from 1954 to 1972 and a teaching assistant at Plymouth Elementary School from 1967 to 1970. Howard is a member of the El Dorado County Cattlewomen’s Association, Amador County Cattlewomen’s Association and California CattleWomen. This position does not require Senate confirmation and there is no compensation. Howard is a Republican.

Timothy King, 53, of Plymouth, has been reappointed to the 26th District Agricultural Association, Amador County Fair Board of Directors, where he has served since 2002. King has been owner at A Cut Above since 2016. He was a weighmaster at ACES Waste Services from 2014 to 2016 and supervisor of the Ampine Division at Sierra Pine Limited from 2004 to 2011. King was a district manager at AmeriGas Propane from 1984 to 2004 and served as a seasonal firefighter for the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection from 1982 to 1984. This position does not require Senate confirmation and there is no compensation. King is a Democrat.

Janet “Jamie” Lubenko, 43, of Fiddletown, has been reappointed to the 26th District Agricultural Association, Amador County Fair Board of Directors, where she has served since 2012. Lubenko has been owner at Prospect Cellars since 2012. She was marketing and communications director at Redwood Winery from 2011 to 2012, executive director at the Amador Vintners Association from 2005 to 2011 and public relations coordinator at the Sutter Amador Hospital from 2001 to 2014. Lubenko was an account executive at KNGT Radio from 1993 to 1997, a consultant at Broadcast Software, Marketron from 1994 to 1995 and traffic director at KCMJ Radio from 1991 to 1994. She is a member of the Plymouth-Foothills Rotary Club and the Plymouth Economic Development Committee. This position does not require Senate confirmation and there is no compensation. Lubenko is a Democrat.

Robert Manassero, 72, of Sutter Creek, has been appointed to the 26th District Agricultural Association, Amador County Fair Board of Directors, where he has served since 1995. Manassero has been owner at the Manassero Insurance Agency since 1966. He is a member of the Amador Water Agency Board of Directors, Italian Benevolent Society, Amador County Business Council and Jackson Elks Lodge No. 2426. Manassero is past president of the Jackson Rotary Club. This position does not require Senate confirmation and there is no compensation. Manassero is a Republican.
