Sacramento, California - Governor Edmund G. Brown Jr. today announced the following appointments:

Gilbert Mendez, 69, of San Jose, has been reappointed to the California World Language Project Advisory Board, where he has served since 2001. Mendez was a Spanish and French educator for the San Jose Unified School District from 1969 to 2002. He is a member of the French American School of Silicon Valley Board of Directors. This position does not require Senate confirmation and there is no compensation. Mendez is a Democrat.

Linda “Suzie” Clark, 58, of Cottonwood has been reappointed to the 27th District Agricultural Association, Shasta District Fair Board of Directors, where she has served since 2012. Clark has been community education and career development project supervisor at the San Jose Evergreen Community College District Workforce Institute since 2013. She was a project director at Shasta College from 2007 to 2013 and a project specialist at the California State University, Chico Research Foundation from 2003 to 2006. Clark was an administrative assistant at the California State University, Chico College of Communication and Education Development Office from 2002 to 2003, an administrator at the Printed Image from 2000 to 2002 and owner at Access for Independence from 1990 to 2003. This position does not require Senate confirmation and there is no compensation. Clark is a Democrat.

Paula Percy, 60, of Redding, has been reappointed to the 27th District Agricultural Association, Shasta District Fair Board of Directors, where she has served since 2012. Percy has been an independent audit contractor since 2010. She was director of nursing at the Institute of Technology from 2013 to 2014, where she was a nursing instructor from 2011 to 2013. Percy was an independent registered nurse auditor from 2010 to 2011, a registered nurse auditor at the Shasta Regional Medical Center from 1998 to 2011 and director of nursing at the Applewood Inn from 1995 to 1997. She was an operating room manager at the Glenn County General Hospital from 1991 to 1995, a circulating nurse at the Doctor’s Surgery Center from 1990 to 1991, a staff nurse at the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Division of Federal Employee Occupational Health in Jackson, Mississippi from 1987 to 1988 and a charge nurse at the Mississippi Baptist Medical Center from 1984 to 1988. This position does not require Senate confirmation and there is no compensation. Percy is a Democrat.

Michael Sanders, 69, of Redding, has been reappointed to the 27th District Agricultural Association, Shasta District Fair Board of Directors, where he has served since 2008. Sanders has been owner at Shasta Printing Services since 1980. He is a member of the Loyal Order of Moose, Order of the Eastern Star and the Redding Masonic Lodge. This position does not require Senate confirmation and there is no compensation. Sanders is registered without party preference.
