Folsom, California - The Bureau of Reclamation has released the Draft Environmental Assessment/Initial Study (EA/IS) for the Sweeney/McCune Creek Outflow Recovery and Automation Project.

Through a WaterSMART Water and Energy Efficiency Grant, Reclamation will provide financial assistance to the Solano Irrigation District to recover surface water outflow for redistribution within the District. The project would improve water use efficiency by installing a long crested weir, integrated flume meters and automated discharge gates. The project is located in Solano County.

Under the WaterSMART Grants Program, Reclamation provides cost-share funding on projects that promote benefits to water conservation and energy efficiency.

The Draft EA/IS was prepared in accordance with the National Environmental Policy Act and is available at http://www.usbr.gov/mp/nepa/nepa_projdetails.cfm?Project_ID=24030.
