Sacramento, California - Governor Edmund G. Brown Jr. today announced the appointment of Christopher C. Hite to a judgeship in the San Francisco County Superior Court.

Hite, 46, of San Francisco, has served as a deputy public defender at the San Francisco Public Defender’s Office since 1998. He was a sole practitioner at the Law Offices of Christopher C. Hite from 1996 to 1998 and a legal consultant for the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People, San Francisco Branch from 1996 to 1997. He earned a Master of Arts degree from Golden Gate University, a Juris Doctor degree from the Santa Clara University School of Law and a Bachelor of Science degree from Santa Clara University. Hite fills the vacancy created by the retirement of Judge James J. McBride. He is a Democrat. 

The compensation for this position is $189,041.
