Yosemite Valley, California - Yosemite National Park experienced significant impacts from a strong storm that came in from the Pacific. Impacts included 2 to 4 feet of water on roads within Yosemite Valley, impacts to the electrical system, and impacts to water systems. As water levels recede, the park will assess conditions throughout this evening and into tomorrow morning. If conditions permit, all roads leading into Yosemite Valley and all roads in Yosemite Valley will open today, at noon.

For tonight, access to Yosemite Valley remains closed along the Big Oak Flat Road (Highway 120) at the Foresta Road Junction, along with the Wawona Road (Highway 41) at Chinquapin, and along Highway 140 at the Park boundary in El Portal.

Visitor services and campgrounds remain open in Wawona, Hodgdon Meadow, Crane Flat, and El Portal. The Big Trees Lodge, the El Portal Market, and the El Portal gas station remain open. Roads and park facilities may close at any time for visitor and employee safety.
