Sacramento, California - Given the prolonged and continuing duration of the Aliso Canyon gas leak and at the request of residents and local officials, Governor Edmund G. Brown Jr. today issued a proclamation that declares the situation an emergency and details the administration’s ongoing efforts to help stop the leak. The order also directs further action to protect public health and safety, ensure accountability and strengthen oversight of gas storage facilities.

The Department of Energy launched five Regional Test Center (RTC) sites across the country in 2011 to conduct validation testing and systems monitoring on a variety of different photovoltaic (PV) technologies. One of the five RTC sites is located in Aurora, Colorado at SolarTAC; it is currently managed by the National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL), which recently expanded the available area for similar PV installations at its Golden campus. Because of this, DOE and NREL are searching for a partner to transition the Aurora facility to external management.

Sacramento, California - The Governor’s Office of Business and Economic Development (GO-Biz) announced it is hosting two free webinars in January for businesses interested in applying for the California Competes Tax Credit (CCTC). GO-Biz is now accepting applications for $75 million in tax credits during the current application period which closes on January 25. Businesses of all sizes are encouraged to apply for tax credits which are available to companies that are expanding and adding jobs in the state.
